STEAM at SPAE
Sequoia Pathfinder Academy at Eastmark is committed to broadening students’ level of exploration in education. Specials Classes Include:
- LEGO Engineering taught by Bonanza Educational
- Arizona Science Center Classes
- Art Exploration
- Music Instruction
- Drama/Theatre Class
- Physical Education
Technology Immersion within the Classroom
Starting in August 2017, students in second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grades have individual Chromebooks to use for one to one computing.
Additionally, our younger students in kindergarten and first grade share multiple computer carts with new tablets for technology exploration!
A Different Approach to Learning
At SPAE, students are given the opportunity to learn in an interactive, student-centered atmosphere using project-based learning. This approach has students acquire knowledge and skills through working on a project by investigating and responding to an engaging and complex question, problem, or challenge. Students show what they learn as they journey through a unit – not just an end test. In our student-centered classrooms, teachers are facilitators who help support a higher level of student engagement and collaboration.
