About Sequoia Pathfinder Academy at Eastmark
In weekly afterschool meetings, students learn to assemble, program, and drive robots to complete a number of challenges. Our school’s team competes against other teams for the opportunity to win trophies and a chance to compete at the state championship level. For the 2014-15 school year, students competed with VEX robotics. In 2015-16, students competed with VEX and LEGO robotics. Students must be 8 years old to participate (competition rules).
One on One Sports provides in-school physical education as well as after school sports. Students may participate in team sports such as basketball and soccer. Hip hop is also offered for those interested. The program runs for 8 weeks each session. Check the newsletter for the next session start date.
Kinetic Kids Through our Kinetic KidsTM program, your children explore a variety of movements in a supervised environment under the instruction of a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, build a lifelong appreciation for physical movement and exercise, learn safe and effective ways to increase strength, power and agility, increase performance, flexibility and balance, decrease risk of injury and have fun!
Eardley Dance and Performing Arts: Students are able to take lessons in jazz, ballet and tap with a trained and experienced dancer through Eardley Dance and Performing Arts. Students learn specific dance techniques, as well as balance, rhythm, discipline, leadership and collaboration. Students practice weekly and conduct performances twice a year.
East Mesa Karate and Arizona Jeet Kune Do are two organizations that provide weekly training in martial art techniques here at the school.
Elements Music provides the most popular keyboard club in Arizona that offers the most FUN for our students. They utilize the most unique award-winning method. Students will learn Classical and Traditional songs in addition to songs they love including today’s hottest songs from artists such as Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes, Selena Gomez, Adele, One Direction, Meghan Trainor, and Austin Mahone, along with popular theme songs from Star Wars, and game tunes like Minecraft, Super Mario Bros, DISNEY, MOVIES and TV shows, plus many more!
Green Team: This is an award winning program run by students, and led by a staff advisor, to provide recycling support to the school. In addition to maintaining the school’s recycling program, they educate students and staff on the benefits of recycling. They have run several campaigns and have won prize money for their efforts. They money has been used to develop a gardening/habitat program at the school.
Student Council: Students in grades 1-8 elect officers and representatives to run projects and programs at the school. Students have organized events such as school dances and Art Month activities. It is a voting body which teaches teamwork, leadership and the democratic process.
Youngstarz provides before and after school care and vacation camp for students. They have a structured program which includes a variety of activities and field trips. They have a variety of packages to provide flexible options to families.
